New livery and branding on the way?

Per some discussion on airliners.net, sounds like AS will be revealing a new livery towards the end of the month. New typeface, updated Chester, no more stripes are all possibilities.

Any of our friendly insiders here have some more information? Seems strange to put all the effort into a refresh to just go through a total re-branding less than a year later.

Would they really go through all that cost and effort again, though? Considering they just released the refresh what.. barely a year ago?

Here's a link to what it might look like from the discussion on the other board.

The recent livery refresh was not a very expensive endeavor. All it cost was a different stencil for the logo and winglets and the documentation to go with it. The livery change has only been done on new deliveries and planes that were due for paint. This rumored upcoming livery change, if done, will be expensive due to the speed of implementation.

Any evidence that this is anything more than a portfolio experiment?

The link and the contents look familiar. Wasn't it posted during the last new livery rumor thread a year or 2 ago? Before the current refresh?

I found this thread but no link though.

Come on, guys, this is a DIY experiment posted by a one-man branding / creative shop in Boise. He's not working for AAG, he's fooling around by himself. A company this size doesn't hire one guy to rebrand the entire organization, it hires a proper full-sized agency. And what's more, you can bet that if a rebranding were in the pipeline, it would not come squirting out first on the agency's portfolio website.

Agreed, this is just some guy's portfolio exploration.

It's plaussible!

There is a re-branding on the way. Although I do not know the specifics, this gentleman does work for Seattle based Teague Design who has done work for AS in the past. The square simplified logo has been "sneak peaked" around the property. No specifics, no absolutes, but it's plausible.

Everyone who works on a rebrand of this magnitude signs airtight secrecy agreements. A leak like this would get you crucified and sued.

The best thing about it is that SkyWest is nowhere to be found!

Exploration or not, damn that's ugly. I hope it never happens.

You'd think and hope so.

But there was the recent leak, by a designer, of United's web revamp, including new products (that have since materialized). Granted, it wasn't a livery change, but the guy revealed quite a bit on his private website.

That said, this just doesn't look good/professional enough to be real, IMO.

I was trying to be polite If this did wind up being the new branding it would make for one hell of a review on Under Consideration.

Heaven forbid. But it doesn't seem likely.
