You mean the Airbus planes from a merger they were almost certainly always going to get rid of anyway, as opposed to their all-Boeing 737NG mainline fleet they had before 2016?

I don’t get the point. Yes, they can do things to make the passenger experience worse and cram in more seats. Those are completely independent of them having a MAX- the entire point is that since the NGs and the MAX can be standardized on the same interiors they have fleet commonality.

AS’s decision has come down to money (and I don’t actually think the MAX will be unsafe, because it will have been gone over with a fine toothed comb after the accidents... it’s probably the 777X you have to worry about, the new type). AS probably got a hell of a deal (the thing is that A321neos might be better operating economics, but a cheaper plane is part of the deal too- I wonder if AS might want some still, but a small fleet probably means they go away).

If you don’t want to fly the MAX, fly DL in the USA for now, I guess. Until they buy them, you’re safe from a swap.

Obviously, things are subject to change, but could this be it? The abnormally full F/PC seat map suggests that other avgeeks might have spotted it. I just booked one of the few remaining F seats just in case. I'll cancel it if there is a swap.

Looks like it may be sold-out. It is no longer in the schedule.

Hmm, it's back now. There is still a little F/PC room and the back is wide open.

A Max is also showing for flight 482 SEA-SAN that morning, looks like they are getting two in service on 3/1.

There is also a 7:15 am flight SEA-LAX on March 1st. F price was over double the price of adjacent flights. I booked that in Main and selected a Premium seat. The 10:45 am flight LAX-PDX is also on a MAX. I booked that in F and then PDX-SEA in F. The total was $237.

Here is what I have been able to find so far on 3/1-

AS 1041 SEA-LAX, 0715 Departure
AS 482 SEA-SAN, 0800 Departure
AS 1391 LAX-PDX, 1045 Departure (likely the same aircraft as 1041)
AS 539 SAN-SEA, 1145 Departure (likely the same aircraft as 482)

I just booked the same thing, cost went up $30 since your post James. If there is a swap I will just cancel, I had booked the initial flight way back before the groundings and I know that one changed several times.

If you are using the TOUCHDOWN40 promo code it should be $54 for SEA-LAX in Y and $153 for LAX-PDX in F ($207 total)

Good Lord, this is what happens when you are multi-tasking. I forgot there is a touchdown 40 sale on today. Cancelled and rebooked at the lower price, thanks James!

With the Russell Wilson discout, Main was $54, I chose 6C.

I am in F on the LAX-PDX flight & F on the E175 back to SEA. PDX-SEA F was $75 but the total is $237 so essentially the PDX-SEA F was a $30 premium. Through fares! Imagine that!

I generally select window seats too but I like to be closer to the front and 6A, 6D & 6F are already spoken for. I am 2F & 2A (exit & window) on the flights North. Sans an upgrade, I will get both Premium & First experience on the same day.

James
