AS to convert 3 737-700s to freighters
Take it for what it is; I am not 100% on this source, but IAI has been the forerunner in these types of conversions, and I know there's been speculation in the boards about the 700s being converted.
IAI launches 737-700 P-to-F program
(Linked to the Goog's cache to avoid the website's paywall)
Also, looking at missamo80's plane list there are four -700s which do not have the new Alaska Beyond™ system... Rumors say 3 conversions + 1 option.

from an ATW article:
Alaska Airlines will turn some of its passenger aircraft into full freighters, as part of a larger strategy to retire its aging fleet of Boeing 737-400s. The airline will convert three Boeing 737-700 passenger aircraft into freighters as it prepares to retire its five 737-400 “combi” aircraft, Alaska Air Group CFO Brandon Pedersen said during the Cowen & Co. Global Transportation Conference in Boston last week.

Have never flown the combi. When are they expected to be retired? Have to look into booking a trip.

Is it 2017 the estimated year? [With the AAG extending leases seemingly continually on select a/c, maybe this will be delayed]
Guess we'll get more QX in the meantime to pick up the slack.

In regards to lease extentions, I believe all the combi's are owned not leased. So after the 700F arrives they will not have to wait for a lease to expire before retiring them. As for the -400's, the retirements have started up again. N786AS which left the fleet a week ago had the distiction of the only plane in the fleet that was not delivered new to Alaska.

The 732's were interesting. Definitely a slice of bush Alaska that has faded away. Go walk through the 732 that AS donated to the Alaska Aviation Museum at ANC if you haven't already.

To be safe I would take the trip before the end of next year.
