HNL to SEA 738 or 739 in F?

Hey All,
Just curious what everyone would rather fly on Alaska. I'll be going from HNL to SEA in F and wanted to know if there was a big difference between the 800 or 900 series. I've heard 900 has less space even in F. Thanks

AS has more than 20 of the 739ER, which has a greater range than the 800. In either case, pitch in F stinks. Exit rows and row 6 have significantly more knee room.

No mood lighting on 73H.

Plus with conversions, 739ER has more bag space in F as all rafts are contained in the roof of the cabin versus above row 4 aircraft left.

Alaska opted for only one of the potential two optional fuel tanks in their 739ERs, meaning that AS' 738s have a longer ranger than their 739ERs

Thanks for the replies. I was trying to find the best F out of HNL to SEA direct or via LAX. The 757 AA doesn't seem appetizing nor does Delta's 757. AA has one 767-300 non-retrofit but arrives too late in LAX to make a connection. So it seems Alaska's great service will be their saving gracing on this route.

I didn't realize AS took one of the fuel tank options.

According to the Alaska website (which could be inaccurate), the 739ER has a greater range than the 738:

You won't notice much of a difference between the 738 and 739 in F.

Alaska F pitch is poor, but their service from HNL is fantastic.

Not really, with the same fuel capacity the greater weight of the ER means slightly less range. Though the ER probably has more range than a early build -800 due to airframe/engine improvements.

Three of them do.

No aux. tanks in any AS -900ER's. All of AS 737NG's have the same fuel capacity of 46,000 lbs.

I also am interested in any input as to what F seat flyers prefer SEA/ HNL route.
We are split...I like either 2 or 3 aisle and hubby likes bulkhead. What seat do you prefer on this "long" flight?

Row 2.

Row 3 there's the possibility that you will not get your choice of meal, row 4 is guarenteed no meal choice.

If you don't mind bulkhead, then take 1DF. With the seat pitch reduction in F, I find the leg room in row 2 (my former favorite by a long shot) to be abysmal. I have recently become a row 1 convert just for this reason. Much more legroom, the window pax can get out without the aisle pax having to move and no one reclines into your space. Never had a problem with bin space and I can stuff what I need immediately (reading glasses etc) beside me or into the magazine pocket on the wall. The rest I can quickly grab at the 10,000 foot ding. Never thought I would hear myself say it, but it is row 1 for me now. If you really hate bulkhead, then go for row 2 aisle.

Pitch in F is 36 inches, doesn't matter which version of 737. I also prefer row 1 aisle, but find the window too claustrophobic.
