Surprised they aren't throwing an extra 737 on that route....maybe one that would normally RON in SEA.

Hi -

It certainly would make sense, provided they had an extra plane.

I would think AS could run historical data and put an extra 737 on those peak days. For example, Friday / Sunday / Thanksgiving Wednesday / Beginning and end of Spring Break in OR/WA .

Back when AS/QX flew the Q-200 on the route, they would "upgrade" to a Q-400 (and once in a blue moon, a CRJ) when they needed the extra seats.

It's a lot easier when it's the same airline and crews too though. Harder to magically make a new flight appear on a different airline. (This is where having two different entities makes it less flexible.)

Just noticed that there are now ZERO seats available between SEA-PDX on March 29th....might be some rare VDB opportunities for those traveling that day!

Alaskaair.com is showing a SEA-PDX flight available on March 29th....but it is connection via GEG....you don't see connection options showing up very often on that route

The only VDB I've ever snagged on AS was PDX-SEA. Strange route.

Likely to be a few VDBs this weekend since there are ZERO PDX-SEA seats for sale all day on 3/21 and one seat left for Sunday if you're willing to wait until 8pm to fly to SEA

Just got a $300 VDB for giving up my seat on the 5:05am PDX-SEA this morning...my first AS VDB since the days of the bonus travel tickets which was a very long time ago!

On the PAE thread, AS was offering $350 for such a VDB. Fingers crossed!

I would think it would be easier for them to get volunteers for the PAE flights since few if any would be connecting....SEA is another story....looks like they are down to one Y seat left on PDX-SEA tomorrow

FWIW, I got a "help, we need your seat" email from Alaska when I left PDX on Wednesday. Offer was $250. Not worth it.

I was trying to get a VDB on my WN flight which would have likely netted $750+ in WN cash. Couldn't break away from work quick enough to get there. Oh well.
