Looks like the end may be in sight for the 737-400's. Always good news when AS grows!!

The lead flight attendant on SEA-DFW today mentioned this news and told us to look for new destinations outside of the US.

Wikipedia says the range on a -900ER is ~3200nm (~3700 miles). ANC-NRT is 3433 miles on GCMap.

I'm down.

Pretty sure the ER's that AS has don't have the auxiliary fuel tanks required for that amount or range.

The MAX, though, might be a different story.

I would love to see AS try Japan from ANC, or mount a return to Russia, but with all the focus on SEA these days I think it is a pie in the sky dream.

The thoughts of flying one of their planes to Japan, especially with those special new EXTRA COMFORT F seats does not bring thoughts of pie. Perhaps if they offer chiropractic and massage arrival service, I may rethink this.

Change F to have seats like B6's mint?

Can you imagine the line of Y pax for the F lav on a flight over 2.5K miles?

*Shudders*

And per Chugach's comment -- that was my understanding as well.

In all fairness, Florida flights are already that far.

And who cares if they can't actually go that far! I have dreams.
Or jokes. Mostly jokes, really, when you get right down to it.

I can easily imagine that as ANC-ORD/PHX/Hawaii are all farther than 2500 miles!
