"Buy Miles" Limit
 

Hi guys. I'd like to ask if there is any (annual) limit on how many miles one can purchase from a single account?

I'm looking at an EK roundtrip in J costing 290k for two and I'm just wondering if I'll be able to purchase all those miles (for about $8,600 USD saving thus over $4k).

IIRC you can no longer buy miles if you dont have North American address. Not sure if its billing address or Mileang Plan address. So if BTS as listed in your FT profile is correct you wont be able to buy miles

I found the thread. It seems to indicate no bonus miles promo purchases, not sure if it applies to regular non-promo purchases

If the above does not apply there is no annual max that i know of just a per transaction max (currently 40K) so one would have to make multiple transactions

Not correct, it was reinstated about 2 months ago that anyone can purchase AS miles..

If you mean the 30-40% bonus, I think they are in Sept/Oct and again in April/May - I hope so as I need some miles and am waiting until the Sept/Oct bonus period to buy them which may prove to be fool's folly as the award seats may be gone.

From memory last few were Aug/Sept, Nov/Dec, Feb/March.

There is a per credit card/per day transaction limit (4, I think?)

I was looking at OMAT blog and Ben seems to indicate Points.com only allows 4 purchases per card in a 30 day period

Most have more than one card so should be OK.
