As announced in July 2014, certain features of Mileage Plan are not working during a scheduled outage August 14 through August 18:
During the outage, Mileage Plan numbers can be added to a reservation during Web or Mobile check in or at an airport check-in kiosk.
Elite level Mileage Plan members can be assigned preferred seats and request complimentary upgrades for reservations booked during the outage by contacting Alaska Airlines Reservations.
The upgrade processor will continue to function normally during the outage.
- No ability to view Mileage Plan balances
- No ability to review current account activity
- No ability to redeem miles for awards or upgrades
- No ability to change an existing award reservation
- No ability to request complimentary Gold guest upgrades
- No ability to update personal information
- No ability to request mileage credit for missing flights
- No ability to register for double miles promotions

Its started.

I was trying to modify a last minute booking and it hit at midnight as initially partner space was unconfirmed, and derailed into another issue after a 2nd attempt.
Good luck to those working on the update. Wonder if Tim may resurface

Ok don't book tickets!
I just booked a ticket. It had my MP in there, but not my status. No U class seating was available for my flight, but was available for others. I bought an L class ticket. It wouldn't let me choose a seat unless I wanted one of those blue things in the back. It also didn't give me an option for complementary upgrades. My experience has been that if you don't opt for the upgrade at the time of ticket purchase, it doesn't matter what the reps on the phone tell you later about how they fixed it...you won't get upgraded.

Yikes! I need to book a flight in the next day or so. What about if I book over the phone, will the agent be able to add me to the complimentary upgrade request list?

Or are you speculating based on some other past experience?
