My seatbelt has an airbag

On an AS flight right now with the new seats and power. My seatbelt has an airbag pouch attached to it. Interesting. Missed that memo.

Bulkhead seatbelts on newer planes have airbags. See for example:

I believe the air bags are only on the 900ERs

From the refenced thread N529AS and deliveries after will have the airbags. N529AS is a -800. So some 737-800 have it and all the 900-er have it

According to Plane Spotters, that would be any plane 4.8 years and younger.

My seatbelt has an airbag

737-800 aircraft N529AS to N538AS have the Spectrum seats with airbags in row 1 and 6. All aircraft with Recaro seats (900ER's, 800/900 retrofits) have airbags also in row 1 and 6.
