AS to Start SEA-MSY/TPA/DTW

Those other guys are reporting that AS is expected to announce new routes tomorrow, starting this fall.

This is all I know at this point, will add more if I find it.

Wonder what routes are getting cut/reduced to make room for these flights?

Isn't first-ever nonstop SEA-TPA? Didn't they flown it before?

As for MSY. I realize this. WN flown it before. It was right before Hurricane Katrina.

I thought prior to Katrina, AS served MSY, but I don't ever recall AS flying to TPA.

I think you mention Southwest Airlines. Did they flown it before?

Oh happy day! I'd be on the MSY inaugural if I weren't in AKL.

AS.com appears to be suppressing the schedules and searches to MSY. I can buy a seat on AS 788/789 from OTAs, but not directly from AS.com yet.

I'm surprised AS is launching MSY before DTW and at the start of hot and steamy hurricane season.

WN has several "direct" flights between MSY and SEA, but never a nonstop. Closest I've heard of are AS charters for big conventions and various carriers NFL, NBA charters.

The new route announcements received 2nd billing in today's club 49 email to SFO and STS touting. This and the somewhat peculiar english accompanying the route announcements make me wonder if this was a hasty inclusion, otherwise to be announced later:

3 New Cities, 2X Miles + Intro Prices
Coming up, three new routes out of Seattle. Craving sun? … Welcome service to Tampa, Florida. Celebrate Motown to the auto industry in Detroit, Michigan, or beignets to Creole and the ultimate in culture in the one and only, New Orleans. And did we mention Double Miles and intro fares? Check it out today.
the links don't yet lead to pages with any specific info about the destinations, prices, or promos.
