New AS CFO Announced - Chief Football Officer

Looks like there has been a shakeup in AS senior management. AS announced this morning that Seahawks QB, Russell Wilson will be joining the airline in the CFO capacity - Chief Football Officer.

Great idea Alaska. Although I am a Broncos fan, it's great to see AS getting out and engaging the youth community. I wouldn't be surprised to see some AS sponsorship at the CLink if it isn't already there.

Mr Wilson is fast becoming Mr Seattle. ^

I don't think AS has any banner/advertising within CLink. Safeco does, but nobody goes there.

Too bad he was drafted by the Rangers, and not the M's.

The Ms wouldn't know a good decision if it was painted on the side of a 747

Surprising considering DL is the official airline partner of the Seahawks.

From Alaska's Twitter feed yesterday:

"...Customers wearing #3 jerseys will enjoy early boarding on flights departing SEA."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that those wearing #3 jerseys will be boarding after Golds like yourself, and with MVP/Row 6/Those without carry-ons.

Just a hunch. Can anyone confirm?

I wouldn't wear a seachickens jersey if it guaranteed a F upgrade

Another front in the ongoing battle between AS & DL. DL already has the Delta Sky360 Club Level at CenturyLink Field. Will they match the early boarding?

Nobody has mentioned this that I've seen, but at SEA on Dec 21, I saw two different flights board from N terminal, each had at least one person wearing a #3 Wilson jersey.

On one flight, the GA made a big deal of it, announcing the new promo about the jersey, and then inviting the person to board with MVP75, MVPG, and F! I was quite surprised.

On the other flight, there was no announcement of the promo, and the GA never called for #3 jerseys to board as a special group, so the jersey wearer ended up boarding with regular ol' coach.

My take was that the GAs need to know that there is somebody in the boarding area with a #3 jersey, or else they don't make any special announcements...but if they do...looks like some, at least, are letting the jerseys board with F...

Alaska Airlines and Russell Wilson are bringing more fans to Seattle for the playoffs. If you have been bravely wearing the blue and green in rival cities, show us your love of Seattle, and you could get rescued next. We'll swoop into any city where Alaska Airlines flies to bring you and a guest to the big game on Sunday. GO HAWKS!
