Perks
Chauffeur Drive NOT Available
Car service is not available for all Business Class and First Class passengers on Alaska Airlines ticketed award tickets on Emirates flights (as of Jan 2015). The chauffeur will not confirm if you use the EK website for this, though the website makes it look you can make a reservation.
Lounges
Access is available for all passengers traveling in Business and First Class. Not all cities have lounges and many may be operated by a Partner. There have been some reports of people having an issue accessing the Dubai lounges as the tickets may appear in their system as non-revenue employee travel. This is not as much of a problem as it used to be but in case it comes up please advise the lounge attendant that you are on an Alaska Airlines award.
Dubai Connect
AS Awards on EK do not qualify for Dubai Connect, which is the service that offers the free hotel.
Tricks to find Transoceanic availability
Instead of performing a blanket, i.e. SEA-DXB search, perform: SEA-MED.
Madinah is a destination that is only served by EK. Consequently, if there is availability, only EK will show up in the calendar results.

Excellent. Thank you for the info. I want to do just that from LAX(preferably) since there is a lot of availability from LAX on F(Z2 aplenty for the days I want to go).But AS website will not show anything from DXB to Europe with the exception of showing the connection on the JFK-DXB-MXP routing.
Much thanks!

Let us know if that F2 space works out in Dec. I've been watching the flights on EF, and only ever really see 1 F seat.

I'm looking for award flights to DXB on EK around Christmas time, but nothing is coming up on expertflyer (as if the flights are not even available). The farthest out I can search is early December at the moment (Dec 2nd to be exact), but there are flights available on ITA Matrix, so the schedule is loaded for revenue tickets. Is this common, or am I missing something obvious here?

I've noticed that EK will open up a good amount of F a few days in advance of flights.

What city pairs are those? Although I've seen this on some routes, I think this is the exception, not the norm. Check out EK30 for this Weds 3/12 from LHR-DXB: only 3 people in F, business @ roughly 50% full and economy nearly empty, yet no new award seats.

EK30 might not be available, but on 3/12 there are 10 Z btw London and Dubai. Although, you may be right, 3/12 seems to be exceptionally good from most cities, I also see plenty of Z from LAX, IAD, etc.

That worked perfectly. I was unaware that the entire search will show an error if one of the segments is unavailable. Unusually clunky for a decently designed rewards page. The EF subscription helped.
Just booked LAX-DXB-AMS for July(Double A380 F service!)
Thanks all.
