Do they have an AA Gold -> MVP match?
Additionally, I have lost my card (figured, who needs it). Will they accept any other form of proof?

I've been thinking of dumping Delta given the changes and was going to ask to have my Delta gold status matched.
Now, I wonder if I could do better with a USAir platinum match (I'm at 85K ytd). Any idea what, if anything, that would track to?

Looks like a good chance that USAir Platinum would match to MVPG 75k.

I did a MVP challenge using DL silver status and failed last year. Would that disqualify me from a match to a higher tier now that I have AA EXP and UA 1K?

For those who got matched to 75K, i understand you don't receive the 50k bonus miles (fair enough), however do get to gift MVPG status to someone?

Maybe an exception, but it does happen. Pasted from an email earlier....
"Thank you for your email regarding your elite status. As an exception I have
registered you for our MVP Challenge. In order to achieve MVP Gold status you
will need to complete 8 segments with Alaska/Horizon Airlines between January
15th - March 15, 2014. Once this challenge has been completed we can upgrade
you to MVP Gold."
Almost 75k so far this year, bum in seat. They scratched mine....now I am scratching theirs...

Dude, calm down.
If you think about it rationally, there is no logical argument for why anyone getting matched to 75K will materially affect your experience. To quote a mutual friend of ours, the 75K matches fall into the following three camps:
Groups 1 and 3 won't fly enough to affect you. Group 2 will become 75K quickly enough anyway, so they just get a small head-start that really doesn't affect you.
Why are you so possessive about your 75K status?
If you think about it rationally, there is no logical argument for why anyone getting matched to 75K will materially affect your experience. To quote a mutual friend of ours, the 75K matches fall into the following three camps:
- Those who do it for one off benefits on a single flight or two. There are almost certainly very few of them. They statistically aren't going to have any appreciable negative impact on any AS elites. While they may be accused of gaming the system, they really aren't gaming it anymore than anyone on this e-mail who has done a MR, taken a creative routing on a companion certificate, etc. The fact is, this is a "loophole" in the system, just a different loophole than you are using.
- Those who actually transfer their business over to AS. They're going to become 75K's anyway. Not attracting them is bad for business as above.
- Those who intend to come over, but their plans change, and/or come over to "try" AS but don't like it. They are basically the same as the first group.
Why are you so possessive about your 75K status?
