I do have an MP account and would like to request a match to MVPG. However, I already burned my once-in-a-lifetime match about 4 years ago (really, for no reason other than getting those free upgrades on a few AS flights I had coming up... didn't think back then I would be SEA-based).

AS Status Match
I would not to try to be sneaky. Just explain the situation and you might find them cooperative.

This is one of the reasons why AS needs to require some sort of challenge and not give away upgrade codes to matches. Every other prgram even with challenge/match one needs to meet status requirment before getting upgrade certs

Hey guys, what do you think are the chances for status matching from CX Gold (OW Sapphire) to MVP or MVPG? I haven't actually flown with CX (the status was from the Amex Plat offer) but I do have a bunch of (award) flights planned for later this year.
However, I want the MVP status as I have a few TPAC Delta flights coming up before the trip with CX, and would like to earn points on AS through those flights.
Is there a chance I could get MVP status?

to all who have matched, how long has it taken to get the status from the day you emailed them the necessary documentation?

I am considering doing status match from UA silver to MVP after Nov 1st 2014, so I get MVP for all of 2015. Does anyone know if I can open a Mileage Plan account before that and status match the account to MVP later. I might do some flying prior to 11/01 I want to credit to mileage plan. Thx!

AS Status Match
There is no problem opening an account first. Also, match for full next year might start October 1... check what they tell you.

Status match updatw
Just a FYI. I status matched from UA1K to MVPGold at the beginning of the year. I've taken 25 flights on AS year-to-date and have been upgraded exactly once. I usually get the exit row or bulkhead seat in coach that I want. But it is difficult to work with my computer open. Most of my flights are cross country, so I understand that demand for upgrades is high.
However, last night, from TPA-SEA, I used two of the four upgrades for me and my wife. My wife couldn't make the flight and I cancelled her out at the airport (BTW, even though we both were on the same PNR, there was a $125 penalty for her ticket, which is not the case on UA - plus the loss of the upgrade cert). So who is sitting next to me in First Class for the 6 hour flight? A non-rev flight attendant, not an MVP, MVPGold or MVPGold75.
