I was crushed to discover that AS cancelled the 9am OGG-SEA flight and added a redeye....for winter 2011. All good things come to an end I guess....sigh!!

The redeye has been on the schedule for a while, since at least before Thanksgiving...

It the END OF THE WORLD!!! OMG!

Seriously though, please send an email to AS customer service. If they receive enough letters, they may change their mind.

I kind of doubt that customer letters will influence network planning. Wouldn't the loads/yields on the redeye have to suffer to get their attention? Or better yet, if you want a daylight flight ex-OGG, fly HA. AS would get that message.

IIRC that market is served twice daily, so there should be a daytime flight ex-OGG.

Doesn't winter 2011 refer to Nov 2011-Feb 2012? If so, I wouldn't be too bummed out...yet. A lot can change in those 9-10 months.

It's still twice daily through next winter. Departures from OGG are at 1325 and 2230. Not a redeye fan myself, but at least one daytime option is still there.

I stand corrected from my prior post.

It actually looks like it operates twice daily until May 1, when the redeye is suspended.

I think we are going to see a lot more Hawaii flights go to redeye returns to better increase aircraft utilization.

Also, having a redeye return option to SEA vastly increases connection opportunities.
