Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air Launch New Year's Fare Sale

SEATTLE, Jan. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have launched a New Year's sale with airfare to several popular Hawaiian destinations starting at $159. Fares are available for travel throughout the Lower 48 states and Hawaii, and are good for travel between Jan. 11 and Feb. 17, 2011. Tickets must be purchased by Jan. 12, 2011, and are available for purchase today at alaskaair.com and horizonair.com.

•San Jose and Sacramento, Calif.

$ 49* between:
•Los Angeles and San Jose
•Spokane, Wash., and Portland, Ore.
•Spokane and Seattle

$ 59* between:
•Boise, Idaho, and Portland

•Mammoth Lakes, Calif., and San Jose
•Oakland, Calif., and Seattle
•Portland and Sacramento
•Seattle and Sacramento
•Seattle and San Francisco

$ 69* between:
•Los Angeles and Portland

Yes, because we have to wait for all those pesky PFD discount codes to expire before offering reasonable fares to the Alaskan market.

(A family member is looking to go to PDX out-of-pocket for some optional work training, but at $400rt, it's not going to happen. AS is going to lose a sale on a flight in three weeks that is currently almost empty. Good job, revenue management! )

Why would Alaska Airlines include the state of Alaska in a fare sale???

Even better when they do run sales its usually to bizarre locations on QX in an off season(such as Kallispel In February) for said location that most Alaskans arent going to be going to anyhow
