Now theres rumors of another storm coming in on Wednesday to the east coast. Someone said up to a foot in New England. Just in time for my next trip to PDX. My flight is practically sold out hopefully we wont get stuck. Hopefully DC will be spared.

I think I have accepted the fact that Wednesday will be the earliest that I can get out of DC and there is a chance that I will be stuck here until the weekend. As matter of fact, if I am stuck after Wednesday, I will stay until Saturday since by then I will have already missed all of my classes, work, etc.
Nothing I can do now, but just make the best out of it and enjoy my time here.

I'd imagine delta doesnt offer "system wide round trips" like alaska does, as i know a certain city that starts with SYD/BNE that i need to be around the end of may.

The system-wide r/t that AS used to give out was called BTT or something that starts with a 'B'. IIRC they do not do that anymore....

Only having one "runaway" is not a benefit during a snowstorm. At a multi-runway facility, snow removal crews can alternate between runways, keeping them clean and always leaving an open runway flights can use. At a single-runway airport, all operations come to a halt while the runway is cleared. This causes big problems for inbound flights because there is no way for them to anticipate when a closure might occur.
DCA was closed today because there was a couple inches of ice everywhere.
Good luck getting out...I was trapped by the December storm and had to burn a bunch of miles to escape back to Seattle.

the PIT airport is cleaned up from the mess it was this friday/saturday, but there is still a ton of snow on the tarmac that they are still trying to clear out. There are baggage carts buried until 2 feet of snow out the window, its pretty funny.
Oh, and the parking lot was a complete blast! I feel bad for anyone who lands to have to, quite literally, DIG their car out with snow up to the windows

Wow, 10-20 inches? And I thought the 6-8 inches forecasted in Pittsburgh was a punch in the face.
Its still a mess out there. I went downtown for a while and the roads were still not plowed in city areas (other than large chunks of road ice and 2+ feet of 2 tracks blazed through the snow), broken trees everywhere in the parks due to the weight, and other untold mayhem. I could only imagine what the DC area is experiencing and what is in store for everyone this week.
