Same Day Confirmed on Codeshare Flight (AA)
Hi I'm new to the forum, but I signed on desperately looking for some clarification.
I booked a flight (in May) through AS website for tomorrow August 1st, and AA is operating the flight. I'd like to pursue the Same Day Confirmed Change option for $25, but the option of Web-Check in is not available since I have to check in at AA kiosks tomorrow. However, web check in is also not available on AA since I booked the flight through Alaska! I'm currently confirmed for LAX to HNL at 8:20 p.m., but would like to change to LAX to HNL at 8:40 a.m. Both flights are codeshare between AA and Alaska. Same day, same route. Only changing outbound. I called Alaska on 4 occasions today, but each rep gave me the run around about the SDC option and quoted me outrageous fare difference fees because I am changing my outbound flight. I still don't know if this option is even available for my flight. One rep said I could go stand by at the airport, but was rather closed mouth about the $25 confirmed option. So my question...has anyone ever sucessfully accomplished a same day confirmed on an AA flight? And if so, how far in advance did you make the change, and did you change it online, on the phone, or at the airport with a ticket agent? Thank you for any help...I can get in the 11th hour! |
You'd need to make the change via AA's change rules and procedures -- see http://www.aa.com
Alaska's rules only apply to the flights they (+Horizon) operate |
Thanks for the quick reply...I called American 3 times today and each rep told me that Alaska owns the flight and therefore needs to make the change. AA has no access to change since I didn't book it through them...which sounds like baloney since they're flying the plane...
I can't get any answers from either airlines. |
