MVPG upgrades on AA codeshare
 
I am contemplating a DCA-ANC trip. Most advantageous fare is on AA.com, and involves the AS ORD-ANC flight as a codeshare.

I'm MVPG - will flying AS metal on a AA codeshare invalidate my various upgrade privileges?

yup.

You can request the upgrade on the day of departure only

You may even be able to do it in DCA, though not for sure.
