eskimo on the tail...
I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, but I have to ask. For years. And years. And years... I thought that the face on the tail of Alaska planes was Abraham Lincoln. It never made sense to me that it would be so... only upon moving to seattle and flying AS more often did I figure out it was an eskimo.
Anyone else think the same thing? |
no! The Eskimo has a parka hood, not a top hat!
When I was younger, I thought it was something weird as well (5ish)... but alas, my memory has lapsed... See, even in this pic, the hat is clearly not a tophat... |
I always thought it was more like Bob Marley.

I use to think it was a lion - but don't ask how that could have anythign to do with AS or Alaska the state...
|
It's Johnny Cash!
|
I got on a plane last month with my four year old daughter and she was convinced that it's the "cowardly lion" (I'm assuming from the Wizard of Oz"). :)

Why in the world would Alaska Airlines have Abraham Lincoln, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, or a lion on the tail?

I thought it was my Mother in Law.

I thought it was a man with a bad harido and sunglasses. I always wondered why it wasn't a polar bear.

What are you people smoking, and how can I get some? :D

As a young child when Alaska used to fly more than just their once daily flight to Boise I thought the tail image was of Abe Lincoln. It wasn't until later that I figured it out. ;)
