WSJ Best and Worst airlines
The WSJ came out today with its annual ranking of carriers and AS ranked 2nd out of 8 carriers. https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-bes...017-1515594783
Alaska had ranked 1st the last four years. For 2017, AS finished behind DL, who was 2nd last year. WSJ also combined AS and VX for 2017, so the numbers reflect their combined performance. Overall, Alaska had a solid performance, ranked 2nd or 3rd in every category except for cancelled flights, where they ranked 4th. Really, the only significant drop from last year was in on-time performance, which according to the company was due to weather issues, runway construction at SFO/LAX and QX problems. So, while 2017 was a drop from the year before, it also doesn't really reflect any type of "sky is falling" situation. |
