Blankets in First Class
 

Just boarded 852 HNL-SEA and what do I find waiting for me? A blanket. Search is working oddly for me so I'm not saying anything come up, but I've taken redeyes recently and have not had one on those flight flights.

Are they at the seat or on-demand?

I hope the blankets stick around longer than they did when they made a debut in October 2014, followed by an almost immediate disappearance.

Back then blankets were only available on demand, but AS never announced the perk to the general public and staff didn't make any announcements in the air. Or at least they didn't on any flight that I took that month or later in the year.

The fact that blankets even existed was a little secret that seemed known only to FTers and a select group of other people. You needed to know the secret-handshake in order to get one.

5 Am tomorrow flying ANC-SEA. Will see if they are out. Will ask if they are not.

perhaps varied by crew. i flew RT SAN-MCO during the previous blanket and pillow (B&P) trial period and both flights B&P availability was publicized by the crew. on the outbound, everyone got B&P without asking, on the return we were advised they were available but they were handed out only by request.

We flew F SEA -> OGG in the morning last week. No blankets....

Only offered on redeyes.
