Low Fare Guarantee on upgraded flight

I booked a ticket to PHL awhile back (click below to see why and donate), and now I see the price is down, and since I am MVPG there is no change fee.

However, I did use two of my annual guest upgrades to confirm. If I use the fare guarantee to drop my fare ($63), will my upgrades be lost or still honored?. There is still U space left for using them.

Are you sure the fare its dropping to is not a G or T fare? If it does drop your upgrade, you will have to contact AS to have the certs reissued, hopefully wont take too long for that. What did it say when you started the process to request the credit? I know when you are waiting for an upgrade it gives a disclaimer that you have to click to accept. i'm not sure if its the same disclaimer

Same disclaimer.

Need to watch fare class as this could be G or T. Also once U is released it might not go to U. I recently cnld a PHL-SEA and this didn't go back to A, rather into F.

If its June 27th the day before the event lowest fare available is upgrade cert eligible fare with U1. On the return if its 7/2 & 7/4 there is U1 but i didn't check the fare type

I've had the same experience... I called in for a Low Fare Gaurantee refund (after being notified by TripIt Pro) and the phone agent warned that my upgrade would not return to U and, therefore, I would lose my upgrade. Since the flight was for work and had already been expensed (trying to figure out where the refund went on the company card would be problematic) and was only for $35, I decided to leave it alone.
