Not to throw fuel on the fire (or digress), YX essentially selling itself to NWA doesn't seem the best way to insure MKE gets the benefit of quality air service, going forward. Not only is NW world famous for lousy service, but people forget that YX is in MKE today, with a hub and spoke operation, because NW walked way fom its mini hub there, dumping most of the nonstop service to the market, following the Republic acquisition.:D

AS FOR MILWAUKEE Having been here my entire life, I'll be the first to agree this city is still in the dark ages. However, an airport that may or may not have been filled with FL aircraft wasn't going to bring about any changes. How do we know Joe Leonard could have delivered on his promises? I guess we'll never know. The worst mistake I made this past holiday season was not to book a non-stop on Air Tran to MKE for my holiday travel. The legacy airlines are total customer service disasters, even when they are at fault because of mechanicals, overbookings, and crew shortages which are all too frequent. When it is an option I am going to move business to and stick with Air Tran and Southwest. Reliable new aircraft (not CRJs like YX), good crews, and good fares. |
