Swapping 737 for 717?
Booked on FL 733 ROC-LAS for late November. Listed as a 737, but when selecting seats, every middle seat on the left side of the aisle is listed as unavailable (most with adjacent aisle/window seats still available).
Is this just to give them the opportunity to swap in a 717 (2/3 config) on this route without having to change seating assignments, or is there something else at hand?
Thanks.

That's exactly it. It used to be when there was a swap, all seat assignments would be deleted. Now, the seat map will stay the same and middle seats can be assigned day of.
This is all 737 seatmaps. I guarantee ROC-LAS non-stop will not be a 717

The 717's don't have the range for ROC-LAS so it must be something else.

Flew an Airtran 737 a few weeks back - hard seats in coach.
Flew an Airtran 717 today - hard seats in coach.
The return leg of the aforementioned 737 flight - Business class upgrade -
These have been my virgin and sloppy seconds flights on Airtran - will always go for an upgrade on 2 hour plus flights. Coach seats are doable for short flights.
