I would think flights to the Caribbean require more credits than CONUS ones, but I found no such implication on the A+ website. What am I missing?

Nope, they require the same though availability is controlled. And due to connecting traffic feed most times more unlikely to get a coach award on International. There will be a cash cost of international taxes.

Business Class at 16 points per one way however is much more available. At 19.2K points transferred from WN for the 16 credits IMO that's not a bad deal. Check availability before transferring WN points.

Yes. I just booked round trip flights for me and my wife to Punta Cana. They had no coach seating available for the dates we are going, but they had plenty of biz class seats. They had some coach available for other days, but not the days we wanted to travel.
