Name Change Permitted on Award Ticket?
My son has an award ticket that he will not use, and the credits used are past their expiration dates, so can't cancel and redeposit. Can the name be changed on an award ticket (and also the itinerary).

Name Change
Generally, a name change requires a re-issue of the ticket. So, the airlines won't do it free of charge (unless you have status and might persuade them to do so). According to AirTran's website, they charge a $75 fee for changes. Not sure that includes name changes - may have to call to find out. If you cancel and re-deposit, you can technically extend those credits but with $29 per credit may not be the best way to salvage them. Good Luck!
