Hey there,
I'll be straight up and say I have hardly ever flown in my life, however I'll be shortly taking a trip abroad using Ryanair. It's an early morning flight, so was thinking of using the airport lounge beforehand as I'll more than likely end up at the airport 3 hours early, if not more. However I have no idea how the lounges work so I just wanted to clarify, do the lounges at Edinburgh Airport only allow access from certain flight providers, or is it a case of if you buy the access, you can gain access?
Thanks for the help and advice in advance.

Generally I find the Plaza Lounges better across the world, but YMMV.

Not really familiar with Edinburgh Airport but there are a few web sites that give whole reviews showing what you can expect: https://loungereview.com/lounges/airport/edi/
Fwiw I find early morning flights the least likely to be worth visiting a lounge in because I probably already had breakfast at home and usually don't show up very early for such flights. Later in the day it can be pointless waiting around to go to the airport so I just go early. It's rarely necessary to be there three hours early despite what they say and more than three hours is excessive (though if you're coming from far away it can be hard to avoid).
One other thing... make sure you check in online for Ryanair. If you check in at the airport they have at times had an extra fee. If you don't like using the app then printing the boarding pass is handy so you don't need to worry about your battery. And if you have a non-UK/EU passport *make very sure* you get your boarding pass stamped at check-in before security. They don't do passport visa checks at the gate and this can cause you to miss a flight. That's not an issue with UK/EU passports though.

Just for clarification, there are THREE lounges you can pay to enter. Two Aspire lounges - one near Gate 4 and the other near Gate 16 - for 32 each and the Plaza Premium near Gate 16 for 41.

Hey everyone, thanks for the information! As I said I'm a total airport novice really so I wasn't sure if lounges could only be used by certain providers or if you could buy access regardless of provider/ticket type. The reason why I wanted to try is, as I said I'll probably be in the airport for 2-3 hours minimum before my flight and I have a discount for the Aspire lounges for 20 PP, so it seemed worth it when taking things like what I'd spend on food/beverages whilst waiting for my plane anyway, but wasn't sure. Thanks for everyones help!
