Delhi (DEL) and Pune (PNQ) airport lounge access
Hi all,
My family members will be flying PNQ-DEL on Air India business and connecting to EWR on United business. Will they have free access to any lounge in Delhi or Pune? If yes, which ones, and is it easy to get to them?
Thanks!

I don't know about Pune as that has only third-party lounges but in DEL most likely it will be the AI Maharajah lounge as AI is a Star Alliance carrier. Under normal circumstances they can also get into the Singapore SilverKris lounge as that is also StarAlliance carrier operated lounge, however it is currently closed due to covid. The AI lounge has a dodgy reputation so UA might send them to the still-open Plaza Premium but I can't say for certain. This might be a better question on the UA board.

United 1K - No Lounge Access with Star Gold in New Delhi?
- I recently came from New Delhi to SFO on Premium Plus
- United 1K Status (*Gold)
- No Lounge Acces:-(s - as Air India lounge closed due to Covid-19 (Plus takeover by Tata maybe?)
- Priority Pass APP shows 2 lounges - Premium Plaza (a) By Food Court - This place was a ZOO - Standing Room ONLY
- Another Priority Pass Lounge was on 4th Floor - Contracted by United for Business Class Only - Even though Priority Pass Partner
- Since UA Polaris waitlist clears only an hour or so before flight ..... even if get upgraded to polaris ..... too late to go to the contract lounge

Avoid unless desperate.
Currently in the AI *A "first-class" lounge in T3 Delhi airport. Easily the worst lounge I've ever been in. One non-working coffee machine, two spoons, three forks, a couple of well-aged dry snacks, and some questionable dessert items. WiFi requires phone number to access. Extremely loud roaring noise from ventilation on occasion. Electrical sockets in some, not all, chairs. When I first arrived I spent a few minutes wandering around making sure I wasn't missing the main part of the lounge--but, no, it really consists of little than a couple dozen chairs plus some shockingly lame "food" offerings. The only good thing about the lounge is that it is deserted--presumably other AI/*A travelers know to avoid this place.
Update: after the coffee machine stopped working and the last spoons disappeared in the "first-class" lounge, I discovered that you can walk via a back corridor into the "business-class" lounge where there is some food and drink.
