Malta La Valette Club Lounge

Airside after security and just after duty free. Look left and the lift to the lounge is there, go up to the 3rd floor.
nice lounge, decent drinks/food and ambience. Added bonus is the outside terrace.

I visited last year. It's a superb lounge.

+1 - very nice lounge with great views, and Mrs T and I should be there again at the end of next week :)

Just to add, I visited here yesterday. No problem accessing the lounge with my Priority Pass. The entrance is on the left once you exit the lengthy duty free. It was very quiet as there were only a few flights departing at the time I was there. There were some hot savoury snacks on order which were refreshed several times during my visit - small cheese pastries (a Maltese speciality), courgette bites, small salmon and spinach quiches (warm), also carrot and pumpkin soup. For the cold snacks there were cold cheeses, cold meats, dips and assorted crudites, bread and some small single profiteroles, trifles, small donuts and muffins. There were some Maltese papers and magazines, nothing international. The sofas were comfortable and I had a quiet couple of hours waiting for my flight.

Quick Questions

Hello,
We shall be flying British Airways Business (Club) with hand baggage only.
Will we still have to visit the check in / bag drop desks to get a lounge pass before going through security?
Also, is the lounge before passport control for non-Schengen flights? If so, how early should we leave the lounge to board the flight?
Many thanks.

I think that MLA is one of those airports you can't OLCI, so a visit to the physical check-in desk will be required anyway. (Too many airports recently, can anyone else confirm - T8191 ?)

Enjoy Malta!

Oh well. That answers that then!
Thanks for the info.

Has anyone been here since Covid? Is there anything that is self-service? drinks? food? or is it all pre-packaged crisps/chips and unhealthy stuff? The Priority Pass website says that you have to make advance reservations 24 hours before your flight to access the lounge. Anyone done that? Hoping the experience still resembles the photos above!

Like the previous poster, I visited this month. The food selection seemed smaller than before covid. They offered just two or three little dishes that were sort of fresh (like a side salad with too little dressing). Sandwiches were sealed under plastic. And they had pre-packaged chips and such. You order at the buffet, they bring it to your assigned table. My +1 ordered a long drink which they were happy to make. Beverage selection was alright.

The lounge features a nice terrace with open seating (so different from inside).

Don't know as we entered by virtue of FF status.

Does anyone else know if Priority Pass still requires reservations to visit the lounge? Seems silly, but nothing these days makes sense when it comes to these Covid protocols.

The outside seating is not open to all, the tables each had a number that were assigned, people had to sit where they were put.

To answer my own question, Priority Pass users have to email 24 hours in advance in case the lounge is full. If you email them, then they'll let you in, otherwise, it is based on space being available. Nice lounge and terrace, but a slightly silly setup with more people congregating in line to wait for food/drinks than if they were to help themselves. While I was there, lines were 5-6 people deep with people hovering just to get a glass of water.
