DIAMOND LOUNGE AUH with Priority Pass

Hey peeps,
I have an upcoming LO during which I want to check out a couple of lounges including AUH's DIAMOND LOUNGE using my Priority Pass

PP lists it as:
Landside - next to Terminal 1, Ground Level adjacent to the VIP Terminal.

while Lounge buddy has it as

"Located in VIP Terminal (inside security). Located inside the separate VIP terminal, which is accessible from the ground floor of Terminal 1, or from the dedicated outdoor entrance just before Terminal 1."

Any (recent) experiences to confirm how this works?

TIA

Hi, I'm passing through there in July. I note PP can get you into either of the 2 lounges in T1 at Abu Dhabi airport: Al Reem, or the Al Dhabi lounge, as well as the Diamond Lounge.

Would you be kind enough enough to leave a review of the lounge you do end up using please. It would be rather helpful.

Thanks

I have done this route before and have been to Al Dhabi lounge multiple times. The lounge is located in a weird location, very accessible, but weird. Theres another lounge near by(cant remember the name, it was either not on PP network or had bad reviews). Expect a long walk when connecting from another terminal. Place can get crowded(as other lounges), but nothing out of the ordinary. The main floor near the food has limited seating. There's more space on higher and lower floors. Decent food and drink selection. The hummus and the bread was my fav. They had grab and go bottles of water(some most lounges dont have these days)

Never been to Al Reem(hopefully this time) or Diamond lounge, hence this thread. Sadly wont be before your trip.

Safe travels.

Thanks for the info Krisk17,

I plan on being in Abu Dhabi, and my mate dropping me off at Terminal 1 for the KLM flight on KLM metal ( as other people call it on here), I've booked a business class ticket.

It's nice to get an opinion on the food and drink as we probably both know some lounges can be good or bad on the offerings.

If I end up in another lounge other than Al Dhabi, I'll post a review on this thread.

Thanks again, and safe travels to you as well.

You bet. And thank you. Rooting for you to checking out the VIP lounge

Curious, doesn't a biz ticket give you access to other lounges as well? or PP lounges all AUH has?

KLM has Al Reem and AL Dhabi listed as partner lounges.

Priority Pass hasthe same above plus the Diamond Lounge.

Is the VIP Diamond Lounge on the external public side of the airport / before security and immigration?

It's a shame the new Abu Dhabi airport isn't yet complete and open, as it would be interesting to see what the lounges would be like.

I'll probably use the Al Dhabi lounge, though you have got me thinking about the Diamond lounge :-)

Giantlonglegs Very limited info on the VIP lounge, hence this thread. I guess, we just volunteered to be the DPs.

Thanks Mia,

It least this might be one of the last reviews of these lounges before the new Abu Dhabi airport opens at the end of 2019, unless the opening slips back to next year.

Just bumping this thread, wanted to know if anyone used this lounge recently and how can you access the lounge if you are a transit passenger.

Hi, please see the link of the post I did for the Al Dhabi lounge, if that is the lounge you are referring to.

If you've a Priority Pass member you should still be able to use it. I'm unsure about other airport lounge clubs.

Al Dhabi AUH ( Abu Dhabi) Airport Lounge

Bump

Just hoping someone could provide an insight to the VIP lounge, how it works with Priority Pass (I don't suppose the car to the plane is included..), connectivity to other terminals, etc.

I've used this lounge around 2years ago when it first got on lounge key.

I got dropped off at terminal 1 and there were signs directing to the far right that you can walk to the vip terminal as it's connected.

When I got there there was one check-in desk but no one so the lady at the entrance asked me to walk back and check-in as I'd normally do and come back.
I came back, showed all documents and the credit card with lounge key and I passed security within a few seconds, after that they took my passport and escorted me to the lounge and a few minutes later someone gave me my passport back.

The lounge is quite big and had the required in terms of drinks and food.

Some time before boarding , a hostess came and got me to the car outside , the car took me to an elevator close to the plane access so basically they took me to the main terminal right next to the boarding ramp and I boarded with everyone ( was a BA flight to London).

I'm not sure if things have changed or not, i'm travelling on Wednesday from AUH so might give it a try again.

Has anyone used the Diamond Lounge with PP? Planning a visit later this month, and not knowing what to expect.
