PP Lounges in IAD

Flying EI on Wednesday next 12/19, so the beginning of the Xmas rush. Couple of questions for those experienced in PP Lounges in IAD;

Flight is at 5.40pm, thinking of heading to the airport for 12pm to allow me to work for the afternoon (i.e. get ahead of the afternoon rush)

(1) For the restricted access caveats to BA & VS, am I correct to assume that you'll get kicked out at 2pm & 1.30pm respectively, regardless of being in before that time?

(2) If (1) is answered in the affirmative then it looks like TK is my only option, thus best to go direct there after security for the best chance of being admitted?

YMMV based on how busy they expect to be, but standard practice seems to be to kick everyone out, close briefly, put out better food, and then start letting in only their F/J or gold-level alliance elites.

If you get into the Turkish Liunge early, I donít think they will find you and kick you out but not sure on this. I tried to access TK around 3 once with PP and was turned away.

I entered the Turkish lounge around 2:00. By 4:00 it had filled up a lot, but no move to ferret out PP folks to make more room.

i have a 3:30p flight out of IAD on delta this friday -- is there a time cutoff for accessing the turkish lounge w/ PP? i will probably try to minimize my time at the airport before the flight but i do have a bag to check so will need to allow a bit of buffer for that...

The priority pass website states the Turkish lounge is currently not available- any idea why?

There's a note at the bottom saying a new operator started Dec. 1 and to "See IAD11," which is in the URL for the Turkish lounge when I search for IAD on the PP site. Maybe it is just a new page for the same lounge due to the new operator? https://www.prioritypass.com/en/loun...nge-washington

I hope- would not be happy if they left the PP program!

lately, I haven't had luck accessing the Turkish lounge at IAD - attempted to enter at 4 PM on a Monday, they had posted a sign "Priority Pass resumes at 5:30 PM", while on a Thursday, attempted to enter at 3 PM, they had posted a sign "Priority Pass resumes at 4:15 PM" so effectively not useful for me. I wonder if they are simply replacing the sign at 4:15 with the 5:30 PM one. I think they're restricting access at these times to accommodate the business class passengers for other airlines that contract for access. Would be curious if other folks have had similar experiences.

Has anyone counted how many airlines are listed on that poster in front of the TK lounge? A couple of dozen? So not surprising.

IMO BA was totally worthless so don't bother. If you have *A Gold status you should consider the LH lounge which IMO is one of the best options for UA travelers.

The BA lounge does not put out any real F&B until mid-afternoon after they kick out all the PP holders. Not really worth it during PP times, except as a place to sit and have a coffee. It is quite nice in the evening for Club World and First folks. TK is the only PP lounge that is open all day and has good F&B all day, but has a crowding problem such that you might not get in. If flying out of A/B in the morning, VA is decent, though a shadow of what it is after they close it to PP in the afternoon. Note that if in C/D, Chef Geoff's is a PP restaurant with pretty good food for an airport.
