Cairo T3 lounges in transit
 

I've looked at some older threads, but, well, they're older.......I will be transiting through CAI T3 next year connecting on a flight from FCO to one destined to YYZ. (Yes, I know that's the wrong way 'round, but a business class seat with Aeroplan points is hard to come by.) I hope the actual transit will be no problem, given that they're both in T3, but I'm wondering about a lounge in which to spend my 2-3 hours. I know it won't compare to most others, but I assume it will be better than hanging out in the terminal. Right? It looks like there are several to choose from.......are there any recommendations?

The MS (Egyptair) lounges are rubbish and dingy...but T3's nothing good, either.

Still, I suppose the lounges offer a seat and a water/soda, and some spotty wifi.

In T3 now. I knew the MS lounges aren't great. Last time I was through was in 2021. The only change now is that the crappy food and beverage is still that except it is now serve your self and seats aren't assigned for social distancing.

I went to check out the "First Class" lounge by the G gates. It is being renovated (looks like a full demolition). The temporary lounge appears to be what was a meeting room. I didn't enter.

Even though my flight leaves from F, since I was already at G, I tried to enter the MS lounge there. Nope. One must use the lounge closest to one's departure gate. I went to F's lounge. It is "closed for maintenance". I backtracked to the lounge between F & G and am in it now. At least it is a quiet place I can work for a short time. I mentioned at the front desk that maybe the nice people in G need to be advised that the F lounge is closed. Agent could have cared less.
