I'd think at least some establishment could make some pretty good money jacking up their prices and then going for a restaurant deal. I know the restaurants don't get list price but if I could have a burger and a beer at nothing out of pocket, I don't care that it's $28 on the receipt so everyone wins and easy way to get volume through some restaurant, especially if they can use it for takeaway orders.

There are no such plans in the works from PP or, AFAIK, any other pay-to-enter lounge provider. And last time I was departing from T5 a few months ago, a stern gatekeeper at the (pretty sad) Swissport lounge insisted PP members are now always barred after 300pm as a matter of policy (which is NOT what PP tells its members; it says "Access will be periodically restricted due to space constraints in particular during the hours of 15:00 20:30 daily.")

Reporting my first time doing this the right way (enjoying my beloved Flagship Lounge in T3 at ORD while having an AY flight).
The only mishap this time was that I made a last minute mistake so I had to check my carry on (after many years of uninterrupted HBO freedom) so I wasn't able to go the airport as early as I needed. I had to go to T5 first.
The AY counters opened around 5 hours before flight, I Checked my carry on sized bag and headed for T3 via the ATS with just my laptop bag. The ATS was packed to the brim.
Security wasn't so bad but anyways I went to Flagship First check-in and requested the escort to cut the line (I don't have TSA Pre so every bit of time saved helps). TSA officer absolutely no questions asked or any advice about my T5 boarding, great as I prefer lean efficiency cause' I know exactly what i'm doing.
Enjoyed a nice meal at the Flagship Lounge.
Headed to gate K19, a short walk from the Flagship Lounge, the stand were they check your Passport and BP is little bit hidden if there are long passenger queues for flights departing from K19:

You are escorted downstairs and before boarding the bus there's another check for BP and Passport.
I had an all ladies, super cool staff who seemed very happy for their jobs and I told them it was my first time using this Bus and I enjoyed it.
As noted upthread it's a super cool ride for Avgeeks going close to the runway and the apron, and it gets better when you see all the heavies while approaching T5
The desk at T5 is located near gate M13, it's not particularly well marked so it's easy to miss:

I assumed that the service was T3 -> T5 one way only (as also noted upthread from some years ago) but I wanted to confirm for updated research for fellow members.
The Mexican Dragon keeping the gate was so upset of having a hard job sitting in a desk that while I approached her she pretended two times she was making a call with her mobile phone but in my native spanish I told her to take her time as i'm not in a hurry, the calls apparently didn't when thru so in the name of science I told her I wanted to go back to T3 to pick a friend, she asked for my BP and told me I need a T3 departing BP to be able to go back, hence, the system is now available 2 ways.
I asked if for the next time I can check in at T5 and go the lounges at T3 she firmly saidt 'Para vuelos si, para lounges no' (for flights yes, for lounge access no) but you know, YMMV as always.
Good riddance Swissport at T5, I didn't miss you
