AirBerlin delayed flight compensation?

Hey FTers,

I've taken a bunch of AB flights in the last year and I think 1 has been on time. What is AB's policy on delay compensation? I used to write to them after every delay and I got a couple vouchers in the beginning but now I don't even get a reply from their customer service team. This is getting kind of frustrating but I don't have another airline to go to on the TXL-KRK route without layover. Does anyone have experience getting compensation from AB? Are there any guidelines besides standard EU? Which method do you use to contact AB? Thanks and I appreciate your help.

Cheers,

In light of today's bankruptcy announcement, you may have to wait in line with all the other debt holders.

EC261 would apply, but it's likely to be considered an unsecured debt during the bankruptcy.

A Dutch claimbureau offers to buy your claim for 15%. If AB pays out in the end, you will receive another 30%: https://www.aviclaim.nl/air-berlin-actie/

I doubt that many claim agencies will accept EC261/2004 against AB anymore.

The one listed above specifically seeks AB passengers. This way, they will have a stronger case when they are in line for the curator.
