Yea, I have the same thing happen. I had a few people sign up for me, but I still haven't received the miles. Not that the AB website is always accurate, or usable, even...

Obviously this was shut down because of fraud.
I emailed Air Berlin and this was the reply:
Many customers used the opportunity, of inviting friends and family, to create a lot of false contact details just to gain more miles.
