Well there's a rather strange anomaly on this - on internal domestic flights in Germany, beer and wine are served for free (but you have to pay on international flights!)

So does Z-class earn anything on airberlin's TopBonus itself? All the discussion here has been about what it does, or doesn't, earn on British Airways, isn't it?

Things have changed for non-AB elites. Only Category B (rows behind the emergency exit) is for free for non-AB OW-Elites! So it is a very recomendary to check in at the airport.
Regarding complimentary snacks, this has been replaced by a Buy-on-Board program which started on September 15th for all AB and 4T flights. HG operated flights still offer complimentary snacks. The complimentary Gourmet Menu for Elites (both OWE and topbonus Platinum) have been scrapped as well!
Regarding Z fares: booking far in advance, even a Economy Flex (new name for FlyFlex+) can be a Z fare. Z fare does earn miles on topbonus depending on the booked RSS.
