I received new amenity kit yesterday on a flight to JFK - very nice kit with fairly basic content: socks, eye mask, toothbrush and toothpaste, lip balm, facial moisturizer and earplugs.

do you also get an amenity kit in economy class? on every flight or just on overnight flights?

Overnight long haul. For example. there are two JFK-DUS flights in the summer. One around 1800 and another around 2200 (or 2300). The one at 1800 does not have an amenity kit.

Yes - there is a very basic amenity kit.

Pillow - yes
Blanket - yes
Newspapers - no, but if there are any leftovers from C-class F/A's might distribute them in Y
Private yes - yes, but content is a bit basic

The 17:25 JFK-DUS two weeks ago did have an amenity kit in coach. Nothing fancy--socks, eye shades, toothbrush, earplugs, in a paper-fiber envelope. Both flights are overnight, no reason for the earlier flight not to provide a kit.
