Safety In-flight - The Bare Essentials
New 733 safety video is one it's way.
http://www.voxy.co.nz/national/safet...ntials/5/17070 Air New Zealand is taking safety briefings on its domestic jet services to new heights, with body-painted staff set to feature in a revamped version of its in-flight video. The new "Bare Essentials" safety video will go live on 737 domestic flights from Monday 29 June. Watch it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Mq9HAE62Y |
Very very cool! This is certainly one way to make sure everyone pay attention!!!
I actually know the dark haired girl, she used to be a flight attendant with Qantas in Auckland |
I just saw it on Youtube :D.
Very very well executed, yet it delivers the safety information well in a humorous format. Now... can we get this crew flying internationally? ;) Oh yes - the blooper reel is online too ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsLy9...eature=channel :D |
trying not to laugh in the lounge right now.
taking a domestic today, love to see the reaction in the cabin. Ah well...I'll have to wait until July |

You should leave it open on some of the Lounge computers ;)
I wonder how long till some idiot complains about it? They have changed the words - I can no longer recite it! At my current rate of travel and inattentiveness it is going to take me months to learn the words! |

CNN also covered it: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/liv...light.crew.cnn
On the CNN report, it said it took only a day to shoot. I am impressed. I tried bodypainting once and it was pretty tedious. It takes a long time to be painted and you really can't move too much during the process. Then the actual shoot/filming. Of course, if you miss the light or whatever and need to do it another day, then it is all over again. So, I guess there is incentive to get it done in 1 day. During an evacuation, they probably need to use the life vest or seat cushion so the butt does not burn as you slide down the chute :D |

2million views on youtube in just over a Week.
Compaire that to Delta's new Video which stands at $1.2mil after being posted in Feb this year. Well Done NZ Marketing. |
I really liked this.
My favorite part is where the male FA gets caught using his cell phone. I love the expression on his face, and how he closes the phone and reaches to put it in his non-existent jacket pocket! |
I probably won't be popular, but I HATE it.
In about ten flights since they started showing it I haven't come across anyone who thinks its especially good on board. I'd rather they bring back the old one. |
Its too long, and i can imagine it will get rather annoying very quick. Flew down to Wellington yesterday morning and it got people's attention.

Complaints made to standards authority
Well, there are certainly some narrow-minded people around. Read the complaints made which are detailed in today's Sunday Star Times.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/2586...int-complaints Personally, I love the ad and the safety video, though if I travelled on a 737 several times a week it might wear a bit thin. I posted links to them on the TripAdvisor airline forum and there have been several complimentary postings from overseas. It may just help to gain a few more customers. |
Has anyone flown with the crew from the video (with their clothes on)?
