Hotel program to Airpoints
 

OK, so heres my situations.

Currently sitting on 500K PC points so i think i am set for free accomadation when travelling for fun for a while.

Want to start building up my Air NZ airpoints balance using hotel stays. I easily make Gold each year from travel on SQ,TH and ANZ but being a Australian based Kiwi with Maori in-laws i am allways trying to rebuild my airpoints balance and it never seems to get above A$3k.

What hotel program gives the most bang for your buck when crediting to Air NZ airpoints?

Typically spend 75 nights per year with PC program hotels (normally Intercon and CP).

Depends on number of nights per stay and $'s spent. Earning rates are either APD per stay or APD per night or APD per $ spent.

PC Hotels
Intercontinental is 20 APD per stay.
Crowne Plaza is 10 APD per stay.

Most international brands offer Airpoints on per stay basis so to maximize your balance you will need to change hotel every day if you don't feel too much trouble. Try to stay at a Starwood property in AU/NZ as they give you 40 APD per stay (the info on Air NZ website is wrong). Next stay at an InterContinental hotel which gives you 20 APD per stay. Register for the quarterly promotion. It often doubles your earning. The current Q4 promo triples your APD earned. Otherwise stay at any Starwood & Hilton ROW with a flat rate of 20 APD per stay. Other PC hotels earns only 10 APD.
