I believe last grab-a-seat ex Aussie was mid-February this year. On 20/FEB I booked BNE to HLZ for travel in August. A$150 one-way.

I have checked the Aussie site occasionally but never seen anything since.

"$13 one-way airfares on selected Air New Zealand Domestic, Tasman and Pacific Island direct flights will be regularly loaded on grabaseat.co.nz on Monday 13 October 08. Seats are strictly limited to 2,100 Domestic, 400 Tasman and 100 Pacific Island seats."

I could have got a $13 flight to Sydney. Had the review page up and everything but I'm already away! Bugger!

Result AKL-ZQN, out on 27/11 am and back 29/11 pm. $26 rtn each for me and the missus.
Smart saver fare but it will accrue points towards tier status under the revamped Airpoints program as it's in November. ^

It's a bit sporadic. The AKL-ZQN and Tauranga-Wellington came on at 1005. The have just posted a whole load of other fluights saying check back this morningafternoon/evening. Includes the Pacific Islands, SYD and the Gold Coast from Auckland.

Provided the airpoints program is revamped by then. Bit annoying if you accrue status points/credits based on fare paid like DJ does

I had a beer with an Air NZ employee at the weekend and they said that the changes were due to be implemented next week. So should be good for end November!!!

WLG-BNE and AKL-Blenheim both came on at 1105. Might be a trend
