Does Air NZ offer a free cancellation within 24h?

Hey everyone. I booked an AKL-MEL in Premium Economy today for travel in November. I now see a cheaper flight with QF. Does NZ offer a full refund back to the credit card within 24h? If so, can I cancel online or do I have to call in to request the $$$ go back to the card? I'm USA based so a flight credit will do me no go.

Thanks!

Same day, not within 24 hours iirc.
So if it is overnight you may be out if luck.

Id call if fare conditions dont allow cancellation without fee.

It's also worth noting that the same day cancellation is not an "official" thing. It simply exists so that if people make a mistake with a booking it allows the CSR to easily offer a refund so that people can make changes / rebook.

It doesn't matter how many hours it is, it is based on the same calendar day and this policy may well have a requirement that the same day be based around NZST not local time. Since it's not officially documented online nobody really knows.

It is NZST and it is up till midnight. I could have sworn in the past it was 24 hours but only very narrowly got a refund under that circumstances some years ago. The agent made sure to make me understand that she was doing me a favour.

Think US is 24h as DoT has a 24h cooling off period.

Yes, provided you book X number of days out from the flight. Can't remember if it's 7 or 14 days (or something along those lines).

They booked AKL-MEL, nothing to do with USA rules (which would apply to any airline flying there).

I'm not 100% positive but I am under the impression it depends on if you book via the American website or the NZ website. If you book on the American website, usually it follows American rules and options (no seat only, no seat+bag, etc.), whereas if you book on the NZ website it follows NZ rules and options. Certainly I notice considerable differences in options and rules when I book on the American website vs the NZ website.

Certainly when I am looking for cheap fares within NZ domestic or between NZ and Australia I go to the NZ website, but I also realise the rules and categories are different than if I stay on the American website.
