Sydney Bag Drop Closes ?
Im sure a really easy question, flying from Japan on ANA to Sydney and then had to book a separate flight from Sydney to NZ. But when I looked last week I found on the Air NZ Singapore web site it says bag drop closes 75 mins before departure. Now I booked the flight it says check in closes at 2 hours before departure which means only a 55min to clear customs and recheck into Air NZ - I wouod think 2 hours cut off was very late.
Could someone confirm if Sydney does close check in and bag drop 2 hours before departure ? Note flying on the 777-300 if thats its different.
Otherwise Im on the phone trying to cancel as boked at 12.30 this morning. Thanks

As ANA is Star Alliance they may interline bags on separate PNR. Worth asking at check in.

ANA is generally very good at checking luggage across separate tickets. So there is no need to actually do anything. Do bring a print of both of your e-tickets as that will make life easier for the agent.
Seperare bookings can't be linked that way, but if you call ANA they can make a note in the booking, it will still require some manual intervention from the check-in staff though.
Staying in Haneda 8-9 hours is not a problem, even overnight is not a problem. The airside transit hotel is still closed, so the time have to spent in the lounge or somewhere in the terminal though. Narita is the one where overnight transits are impossible.

I often get to CHC about an hour (or slightly over) for TT flights but I would be carry on only and already checked in, but in case I have luggage would be good to know
Thanks

Yes, it's a hard close. Sometimes if a person only has carry-on then they may give an extra 5 min or so but for 99.9% of cases it's 60 min. The reason why they don't advertise it is because if they did, everyone would turn up at the last minute and they wouldn't be able to get the aircraft away on time.
