NZ/SQ - Upgrading a non-airnz sector via fare difference - is that doable?
Has anyone attempted or had success in something like this? or will i just embarass myself when I ring AirNZ later
I have a PE ticket by AirNZ to go AKL to SIN (AirNZ) and then SIN to AMS (SQ).
I don't care for the AirNZ BP seats but I would love the ability to do the SIN to AMS leg in business if possible
Looking at my bookings using the SG Partner ref, looks like i don't qualify for the mySQUpgrade nor the "Top up the fare difference" because it's ticketed by AirNZ
notes: no KF status, AirNZ silver, trying to upgrade with cash.

Given it's a PE ticket your SQ fare-class might be eligible for a *A upgrade award. SQ will need to have upgrade award inventories for Biz class released though which is a long shot. But worth a try? It will cost you 1,550 APD for SIN-AMS.

Your only option would be to ask the SQ transit desk in SIN if they would be willing (and able) to do a cash upgrade for their flight.
