The worst is when you go from an employer with a great J travel policy to one that has no J travel policy

I've also found different local vs head office policies: eg back when I was a tech journo here in Sydney, if Microsoft Australia held a media trip to the US typically LA, San Fran or of course Seattle it was in economy, but if Microsoft HQ did the invitations to AU media the flights were in business class!
