Who receives flight credit, buyer or flyer?
I have flights coming up in a few weeks but didn't want to congest the call centre and wondered if anyone here had experience with this. I purchased some flights for my elderly parents. I am not flying with them. Do I as the purchaser receive the credit or do the individual passengers?
cheers and stay safe |
The credits are effectively received by the original passengers because they must be used to book new flights for the original passengers. Let's say the original booking cost $2,000 - $1,000 for each parent: to avoid loss, you need to make a single new booking that covers them both and where the value of each parent's flights is $1,000 or more.

I think this has some interesting scenarios - I booked two flights for my wife, for one booking I used my email address as the contact and the other I used hers. I recently cancelled both flights for credit and the credit confirmation for each booking was sent to the email address held against the original booking. There was no way of checking or changing this when I cancelled the flights it was done automatically. What will be interesting is when we go want to use the credits in the future how these are claimed. I can only assume it will be held against the original booking reference and I or she will have to quote this to use it. Also, any reference about these bookings is now comply gone from my wife's online "Manage Booking - Profile" - so the obvious question is how do keep track of these credits?? I can only assume we need to keep copies the original emails safe and it means a phone call to the call centre when the dust settles to "find" these credits and use them against future bookings. Any thoughts...??

Think one the emails said at some point will be able to see and use credits online. Given the number of credits they will be wanting an online way of crediting them.

We have a TT booking done with air dollars but on seperate PNRs but same flights. As we have a shared airpoints account the transactions for each booking show so relatively easy to track and prove.
