SYD/BNE/MEL from $69oneway

https://i.stuff.co.nz/business/indus...lolly-scramble

Probably the craziest Tasman sale ever? With AKL-MEL as low as $69!

I just booked AKL-BNE-AKL for $220 return! Ironically hight lights how much taxes there on the Tasman (with the return air grate being $14+Taxes)

I've just booked Sydney for $219 each return, as a surprise lunch for the missus at Bondi Icebergs. Always threatened to do a day trip, over on the 7.00 am and back on the 7.10 pm! Sweet deal.

For my MEL-CHC-MEL flights I pay real taxes (on average) for MEL-CHC AUD$113.81, of which $60 is an Au departure tax and for CHC-MEL NZ$54.54.
At NZ$69 there is not much left for Air NZ

AKL-BNE-AKL

Fare: $14.90
Taxes/Surcharges: 65.40WY 7.00WG 34.98KK 16.32IA 20.11F1 62.60AU
Credit Card Fee: $14.20

At least they made nice profit on the credit card fee, being an master card the typically rate is 1.5% which would of been $3.30 ($10.90 Profit)

No good deals from Wgtn. Most residents being on one form or another of taxpayer funding I guess not surprising. Pricing up a trip to take advantage of these great fares from here looks like around $1200 min for a couple, or a bit less on fares but an overnight in Auks. Slightly cheaper to do Y only with no RU or APD upgrade possibility direct. ☹️

Don't know if they will get much cheaper than they are ex Australia than they are now.

Example BNE-AKL is on sale for $136AUD at the moment.
Airfare: $9.44
Tax: $127.65

Don't think they could go much lower than that with taxes...

Plenty of crazy pricing to SYD ex WLG.

WLG-BNE already had capacity slashed a few weeks ago to 3x weekly so I'm assuming loads are still OK as a result.

WLG-MEL has also seen flights cut and apparently doesn't have excess capacity.

Ex CHC and AKL it's a bloodbath with tourist numbers tanking, particularly Asian tourists who travel to AU and then head to NZ. Those people don't fly in or out of WLG.

Much appreciated your comment.
I read the news comments complaining about the return fares not being being cheap...and like a bull in a China shop I booked one flights
Anyway I have book return fares and cancelled the one way's.
Many thanks caveman
