Regional Gotta Go'nt

Was assisting my friend earlier today to arrange a Regional Gotta Go fare due to a medical event. After waiting 30 minutes on hold, the phone is finally answered by someone who doesn't really understand the RGG product that well. Finally we are told that the issue is that there are less than 5 seats available that we would not be able to book it. I'm aware of this limitation due to this website, but it is not published anywhere on the public site of Air NZ so sets the wrong expectation, especially when their own staff don't know about it. There was more than 5 seats before we called, but I can only assume that they must've been sold to someone else during the lengthy wait time. Given you're only able to book the tickets within a 90 minute window and check-in is 30 minutes prior to departure (as no online checkin is available) to have a 30-minute hold time is unacceptable.

Finally we arrange a trip via. HLZ instead of TRG airport this time. My friend is about to leave for the airport when he notices that the agent has booked the fare for 12 December 2020 (12 months later). How the system even permitted this is beyond me? Back on the phone again for another 30 minutes. Disaster.

I don't see how or why the 5 seat or 3 seat (for Elite) restriction is relevant. It would merely cause confusion if it was public.

Pretty bad customer service to book it a year out though.
