Wow... that was like the only decent Elite benefit.

Do NZ-based accounts still have a way to 'buy' additional Airpoints Dollars?

Unhappy

At least the OZ and island rates have gone down.
So I have a trip booked to PER in PE and going by the new table, I can save 20 APDs if I waited until 10 Feb to request an upgrade to J - nice

Basically:

Better rates between East Coast Australia/Pacific Islands and NZ for both PE and BP upgrades; slightly better PE-BP upgrade rate between AKL and HNL/PER/DPS/PPT

Worse rates everywhere else

Increases are much bigger than decreases

NZ's long haul Premium Economy fares rivals many of the competitors' Business fares and now they are asking their most loyal customers to pay more for upgrading to one of the most uncompetitive Business hard products in the world at a time they are facing unprecedented competition on long haul routes. They could have at least waited until they introduce the new Business seats.

Am I reading this right.... A 45 % increase on USA upgrades to business?

That's painful. In my case I fly mostly to Asia where there is much more competition (and unsurprisingly the increase is less on these routes) but where NZ has a stranglehold which is USA they are really hitting their elites hard

That seriously hurts those of us based in the USA. Not only do we not have access to Airpoint Dollars via credit card spend, the Elite upgrade rates to NZ just jumped almost 50%. Lowering rates to Australia brings most of us no benefit at all.

Exactly! If they had some fancy new seat then this could be justified but they've really fallen behind in investing in the product (seats, lounges, etc)

Yep. This is real bad ó the main reason I keep NZ*E status these days is for these low-cost APD upgrades. Will need to do some arithmetic to figure out whether I should switch to Qantas from here on out...... sigh.

Guess this was what triggered the change, and the upcoming EWR!

I wonder if the minimum one ups will increase. As wonder if with uplift would be cheaper to go that way?

Or if it is to help Gold and Silver to use their RUs?

I'm seriously thinking about putting all flight's through QF, this is yet another Benefit downgrade! With American flying into AKl and Chch will be an easier commute from Welly.
