I think they've all increased except the seat only fares. Seat+bag is now $20 more expensive than seat only.

ditto, it is totally transparent. Disguised as an add on is altogether different

I can't find a press release from Air NZ media for that increase either in my email nor on the Air NZ media website. I can't recall a single announcement ever about increases via press release and price increases aer not the sort of thing any company really promotes via press release.

The February changes 2018 price increases and buy up changes went out to the industry via informers, and the exact same notices went out this time at the end of May advising of the long term domestic fare increases along with the buy up increases. To suggest this was an unannounced change is simply not a factually correct statement.

Those that needed to know about this change knew about it - and if you need to know and didn't you should be following official channels to be aware of these changes.

Didn't they basically say at the start of this year to expect price increases because the industry is going through rough times right now? They are probably going to fluctuate a fair bit into the future so announcing it each time would be strange.

I vaguely remember them announcing those price increases but from memory it was a more wide price increase, like more than just flexi dares went up.

There were a number of articles on that date or before. I don't link to my own content on here but I also wrote a story on TravelTalk that I know at the time had a few thousand views that day as it was on Google News before mainstream media.

My point is Air NZ typically don't release press releases for price increases. Mainstream media typically write articles for things such as this when they either find out it via 3rd parties such as forums, blogs or social media.
